Descriptions of the Palace on Harmony Mountain

I now have an actual floor plan of the palace and design of each room. I've gone through and rooted rooms and travel in space. Particularly, I redesigned the boys' chambers and Zudaeshi's suite so their scenes had to have their blocking updated.

Changed Some Terms

Renamed references to the "Heaven" trigram to "Sky". Heaven was just too loaded of a word. So now it is the Sky Sanctum, and Sky Master Halion.

This also meant I had to scrap the term "Sky-Touched" as the colloquial term for Celestial-Hybrid. They're now called "Starborne" as an umbrella term, or terms like Thunder-touched and Marsh-touched to indicate a Starborne descended from a specific Sanctum.

Updates to the Magic System

I solidified the magic system and rearranged some things. That had some unfortunate side effects on what has already been written.

The 'Heavenwood' parchment is now 'Echowood'. Before it was a Sky Sylvaran creation, now it is a Marsh Sylvaran creation focusing on Marsh magic's mimicry abilities.

The Elemental Phase powers are a little more defined. Emberai became too powerful to contain, so now Water Sanctum battlefield routine is to cut an Emberai's talisman out of them before taking them prisoner. This forced me to rewrite the whole beginning of Breaking a Warlord.

The scene and process for breaking the enchantment on Damion's cock cage has been updated. Before it needed Sky-touched and Sylvaran magic, now it needs a Thunder-touched and a Sky Sylvaran.

Changed the person who follows Mulsae to the hospital when he goes to help Damion in Breaking Free from Sky Master Halion to Thunder Master Deryn. Defined their powers better, and now Thunder-touched can move at the speed of sound (with the boom and shockwave that goes with it), so it makes the most sense that the Thunder Master is the one to chase after Mulsae.

Moved memory manipulation from Water to Marsh, therefore Mulsae can't wipe everyone's memories of Nori. But he can implant disinterest about her. This should actually make her solitude arc more painful.

Took away telepathy from Sanctum heirs since it would make it too obvious who the heir is. And: Spoiler, Zudaeshi is Mulsae's heir. We do not want her having telepathy. Nope nope nope.

Gave the Marsh Master telepathy because Marsh and Water are so similar already. I decided to have Water focus on emotion, and Marsh focus on memory, and through that they can both access the active mind (telepathy).

Mulsae has a Windborne Talisman

Therefore: Mulsae Doesn't Lose All of His Magic in Breaking the Breaker

I woke up in the middle of the night realizing I had forgotten that Mulsae has a Windborne talisman. Being half Windborne, Mulsae has access to using talisman magic, which of course he would do. The act of creating a talisman requires the Windborne and a Starborne to work together. Mulsae and his father could have done that together, but the water magic would be redundant with Mulsae's Water Sanctum powers. So, he turned to his best friend, Garrick, and they bonded and worked on it together giving Mulsae access to Mountain magic.

When Zudaeshi steals his powers, she only steals his Water Sanctum powers, not his talisman or Windborne powers. So he's left with Mountain and Fire Phase magic after Zudaeshi usurps power.

It doesn't change the story too much. Zudaeshi can't be defeated by pure force of magic, so it's not like he can fight her with his talisman magic. He would likely keep his talisman a secret, and the extent of his powers in general a secret. But now when Damion takes Mulsae down, there is an actual struggle, but Damion still wins.

Updated the Death Prayer

Let Thunder break the mortal chain, Let Ground receive what must remain. Let Marsh recall what once was known, Let Wind guide where your soul is blown. Let Water carry you in its flow, Let Flame give light where you must go. Let Mountain protect the path you tread, Let Sky unveil the path ahead. The path is clear. Go without fear.

Mulsae's Eyes are Amber

They've always been amber, I just keep forgetting and writing them as blue. Starborne eyes reflect their mother's heritage, and his mother was Emberai.

Damion Doesn't Keep His Wings Out in Breaking the Breaker

Generally, Windborne keep their wings out when they feel comfortable. But after the discrimination Damion experiences in Breaking Free, he hides his wings from then on. When he moves back in with Mulsae, he continues keeping them dismissed when not in use, because that's what Mulsae does. And Mulsae has a habit of keeping his wings dismissed because he was raised around trying to present as Starborne.

The wings will come back out when I get to the Breaking In story.
