Freedom should taste like victory, but for Damion it tastes like iron and old blood and every memory that won’t stay buried. He wanted the collar gone — now he’s choking on the emptiness it left behind.

Breaking Free is not a triumphant escape story. It’s about what happens when the cage opens and the man who survived it has to live with what he did to stay alive. It’s about crying so hard you can’t breathe, hating the silence you fought to have, and trying to believe that freedom is worth the weight of remembering.
