Explore Harmura
Harmura is a world of Sanctums shaped by the Eight Trigrams, where Celestials, Sky-Touched, and spirits define magic, power, and legacy.

Curious about the world behind the stories? Here’s how Harmura works…
Harmura is a land discovered by Celestials and shaped into a living embodiment of the Eight Trigrams. Derived from the primal forces of Yin and Yang, the trigrams are sacred to Celestial order. To honor them, the Celestials sculpted this earthy peninsula into eight distinct territories, Sanctums, each reflecting a single trigram: ☰ Heaven, ☱ Marsh, ☲ Flame, ☳ Thunder, ☴ Wind, ☵ Water, ☶ Mountain, and ☷ Ground.
The Spirit Realm is the source of all Sanctum magic. It is a parallel dimension layered atop the physical world, and Spirits move freely between realms. Rare gifts, ancient rites, and sacred portals allow mortals to cross the boundary, though the journey is perilous to the inexperienced.

Celestial-Hybrids

To govern the Sanctums, the Celestials created immortal Celestial-human hybrids, known colloquially as the Sky-Touched. Marked by their glowing eyes and powers shaped by their Sanctum’s nature, the Sky-Touched stand apart from mortals. In every generation, a single Master emerges to wield the highest power of their Sanctum’s trigram, ruling with absolute authority until death.
The Master is chosen by the Sanctum’s magic itself. It usually chooses the eldest child. Usually. But when the magic passes over a firstborn, whispers follow of imbalance at the core of their soul. In fact, one such skipped heir lurks in the shadows of the neighboring nation of Shinra...
Windborne

To aid the Sanctum Masters, the Celestials created the Windborne, immortal assistants imbued with one of the five elemental phases. Though they pass easily among mortals, the Windborne are not human. They can manifest wings and take to the skies at will. When assisted by a Sky-Touched, they can forge a talisman together to grant the Windborne access to powers from both their elemental phase and the Sky-Touched's Sanctum.
Their callings are as varied as their nature. There are fierce Embari warriors, gentle Durani healers, inquisitive Sylvaran scholars, plus artists, engineers, diplomats, and more. The Windborne serve, not by design, but by passion.

Population of Harmura

Harmura and its neighboring lands are home to a vibrant, interwoven population of humans, spirits, and the descendants of Windborne and Celestial-Hybrid peoples. City streets bustle with artisans descended from Sky-Touched lineages, while riverbanks echo with the songs of spirit-touched healers. Windborne offspring raise families in open-sky communes, spirits drift through temples and markets alike, and humans, though fragile in body, anchor the world in tradition, innovation, and stubborn resolve.
This is a land of overlapping legacies where winged scholars debate philosophy with mortal elders, and festival crowds might include dreamwalkers, ember-casters, or children born of both magic and flesh.
